The restaurant-guide author is awaiting a sentence that is expected to be handed down Monday afternoon and could receive "decades in federal prison," according to The Journal News report.
The cookbook author was found guilty of sex trafficking in a federal court in Brooklyn in June 2011. Yannai, 67, was found guilty on all counts, including coercion and enticement under the Mann Act, forced labor, attempted force labor, fraud in labor contracting, and unlawful employment of aliens for immoral purposes and inducement of an alien to illegally enter and reside in the United States, according to a previous story from The Daily Voice.
Pound Ridge Police Chief David Ryan said in 2011 that Yannai would advertise for au pairs in Europe and then when they arrived, he would cut off their contact from family and friends and sexually abuse them. The conduct took place over a period of six years, according to the previous story.
