Pound Ridge Promotes Town Pride Sunday

The Pound Ridge Partnership, in collaboration with other businesses and local civic groups, will host a community event and block party this weekend designed to increase civic pride, beautify the town, and bring more business downtown.

The event has been dubbed "Pound Ridge Pride," and will be held downtown on Sunday, June 5, from noon to 5 p.m. The three themes are beautification, education and community.

Painting and planting projects will be organized beginning at noon. Civic and community organizations will set up tables to provide information about their groups and offer educational projects for the family.

There also will be a block party along Westchester Avenue sponsored by Scotts Corner Market and the Pound Ridge Police Benevolent Association. There will be country barbecue, ice cream, music, a bake sale, pie-eating contest and a hula-hoop contest.

Proceeds will help establish the Pound Ridge Beautification Fund of the Pound Ridge Partnership.

If you want to sign up your family or team to participate in a beautification project, get your business involved, or reserve space for your community group, contact the event's co-chairs. Call Terry Pike at (914) 715-4107 or Susan Grissom at (914) 764-8689.
