POUND RIDGE, NY - Pound Ridge Police have been responding to several calls regarding nuisance raccoons
Officers were approached by a pedestrian on Westchester Avenue last week who stated there was a sick raccoon near an area residence. Police responded to the area and spoke with the homeowner. Based on the raccoons location, it was not safe to get rif of the animal. Homeowner was given a contact number for an animal control service that could safely remove the raccoon.
Another local contacted the police department and said there was a raccoon in a garbage can located near the playground on Westchester Avenue. Police responded and the witness said the raccoon had walked into the woods. Police checked the area and was unable to locate the animal. The person was advised to call the police if it returns.

JUNE 15
Police responded to a complaint about a larceny via the online auction site eBay. It is under investigation.
JUNE 16
Police responded to a resident who reported receiving numerous harassing phone calls. The person only wanted a report taken at this time.
JUNE 17
Police were dispatched to a noise complaint on Ebenezer Lane where a large party was underway. Police spoke to the homeowner who said it was a family party. They were advised to have the DJ lower the volume of the music.
JUNE 19
Police were dispatched to the sound of eight or nine shots being fired at a residence on Westchester Avenue. Upon arrival, police could hear fireworks coming from an unknown residence in New Canaan, Conn.
Police observed a black Jeep with no license plates on Westchester Ave. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was issued summons for unregistered vehicle and driving an uninsured vehicle and having no license plates. The car was towed.
