POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – The Pound Ridge Library is presenting a free talk and discussion entitled “The U.S. and the U.N. in the 21st Century” on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The talk will be given by Gillian Martin Sorensen, former United Nations assistant secretary-general for external relations and now senior advisor at the United Nations Foundation. She is a national advocate on matters related to the United Nations and the U.S.-U.N. relationship.

Sorensen addresses audiences as diverse as Rotary International and the Air Force Academy, university students and members of Congress, journalists and civil leaders.

In commemoration of United Nation’s Week, Sorensen will be speaking and leading a Q&A session on the role of the U.N. and its relationship to the United States in the world today. Reservations are recommended. Call the library at 914-764-5085.
