POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – The Hiram Halle Memorial Library in Pound Ridge wants to know how you feel about it. The library is conducting a survey to get input from the community about what it is doing right and what it could be doing better.

“We want feedback from the community about our services and our planning,” said Library Director Marilyn Tinter. “We want it from both the people who use the library and from those who don’t.”

The survey is being conducted by both the staff and the board of trustees to help plan for future services. It has been sent to library members via e-mail, but it is also available on the library’s website through Saturday. The website version can be completed online or printed out and returned to the library. Additionally, there are paper versions available at the library, the Town House, Scotts Corners Market and Key Bank.

“If people would just take a few minutes to complete it, we would really appreciate it,” Tinter said. “It will help us to figure out what sort of programs to present and how to improve our services.”

The survey queries about issues such as what type of resources are most commonly used, how frequently the respondent visits the library, how helpful the staff is and whether the library’s hours should be expanded.

The library has been attempting to raise funds to make capital improvements to the building, which include upgrading its technology, expanding square footage and improving the restrooms and HVAC system. The survey asks residents about the proposed expansion and improvements.
