Pound Ridge Cops Make Four Unlicensed Driving Arrests

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – The Pound Ridge police made four arrests this past week, charging four motorists with aggravated unlicensed operation (AUO) of a motor vehicle – all misdemeanors.

The first two arrests were made Wednesday, May 2. Both of them were part of a commercial traffic detail held in conjunction with the state police at Town Park, police said. During the detail, police discovered that Patrick F. Russell Jr., 42, of Stratford, Conn., was driving with his New York driving privileges suspended, police said. He was charged with second-degree AUO and released on $200 bail. He’s due back in court on June 11. During the same detail, police also charged Lee A. Dazi, 34, of Mahopac with second-degree AUO for driving with a suspended license, police said. He was released on $250 bail and is also due back in court on June 11.

On Thursday, May 3, while conducting a routine traffic stop for speeding on Westchester Avenue, police discovered that Declan G. Power, 40, of Norwalk, Conn., was driving with his New York driving privileges suspended, police said. He was charged with third-degree AUO and ticketed for going 47 mph in a 30 mph zone. He was released on $100 bail and due back in court on June 11.

During a route traffic stop on Pound Ridge Road last Friday, police pulled over Carlos M. Woods for traveling 51 mph in a 30 mph zone. A subsequent DMV check revealed that his licensed had expired, police said. Woods, 34, of New York City, was charged with third-degree AUO and ticketed for speeding as well. He was released on $200 bail and is due back in court on June 11.

The following items were also reported by the Pound Ridge police:

Warrants revealed: On Wednesday, May 2, during a commercial traffic detail, police performed an eJustice check on Alvaro Monrroy, 35, of Mt. Kisco. The check revealed that Monrroy had an active warrant out of Port Chester, police said. He was held until a Port Chester police unit came to pick him up.

Last Friday, during a routine traffic stop on Westchester Avenue, police discovered that the driver had an active warrant out of Westchester County, police said. Daniel Waterbury, 47, of Ridgefield, Conn., was taken into custody and handed over to the New York State Police, police said. He was also issued a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign and is due back in Pound Ridge court on June 4.

Liquor law complaint: On Thursday, May 3, police received a complaint that alcohol was going to be served at a Westchester Avenue location without the proper license, police said. The individual was advised of the issue and no further problems were reported.
