Pound Ridge Cops Charge Unlicensed Driver

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Pound Ridge police arrested a Newark, N.J., woman Monday and charged her with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

At about 12:20 p.m., while on patrol on West Lane, officers pulled over a vehicle for having tinted glass. A check revealed that the New York state driving privileges were suspended for Tasha Thomas, 32. She was arrested and released on her own recognizance.

The following items were also reported by the Pound Ridge police:

Vehicles impounded: During a routine traffic stop Thursday, May 10, on Salem Road, police issued a motorist three summonses and impounded his car. Tickets were given for disobeying a no right turn sign, having an unregistered vehicle and for having improper or switched license plates. The car was towed.    

On Friday on Long Ridge Road, police pulled over a truck for having an uncovered load. It was discovered that the motorist was an unlicensed driver. The truck was towed and impounded.

Car accident: Police responded to a two-car collision on Westchester Avenue on Friday at about 1:50 p.m. No injuries were reported, but one car was towed.

Suspicious person report: On Monday, police received a call about a suspicious person in the parking lot in the vicinity of Bank of America on Westchester Avenue. Police responded and checked the area, but the person had left.

Possible fraud: On Monday, an Autumn Ridge Road resident reported possible fraud involving bank accounts. The bank’s fraud department was notified.
