Pound Ridge Boy Scouts Looking For More Members

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Boy Scouts of America Troop 1 in Pound Ridge is looking for boys in the fifth-grade and up who want to join.

The troop has meetings from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesdays, at the Pound Ridge Elementary School. Once the weather warms up, the meetings are at Pound Ridge Town Park.

On Dec. 14, the troop will be camping overnight at Trinity Lake and interested boys, their parents, guardians and friends are welcome to join.

Other activities the troop undertakes each year, include a ski trip, whitewater rafting, camping at Block Island, Durland Scout Reservation in Putnam Valley and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, college football games at West Point, maintaining the Lions Park in Scotts Corner, summer camp in the Adirondacks and more.

Stop by Pound Ridge Elementary School any Tuesday evening to join a meeting or learn more (let the Scouts know in advance so they can make sure you can get into the building). Contact Jon Durica at jondurica@gmail.com or on his mobile at 203-912-7621.
