Plan Would Bring Bike Racks to Scotts Corners

POUND RIDGE – The Pound Ridge Business Association is seeking authorization from the Town Board to place bike racks around the Scotts Corners business district.

The plan was brought before the board at last week’s meeting.

“The Business Association wants authorization from the Town Board [for the project] and they want the town to help with the purchase [of the bike racks],” said Town Clerk Joanne Pace. “They would like to split the cost 50/50.”

A five-bike rack would cost $116, while a seven-bike rack is priced at $169. The number of racks that would be purchased is still in discussion.

The Town Board requested that the Business Association meet with the Parking District and the Pound Ridge Partnership to work out details of the proposal.

“They are trying to figure out the locations [for the bike racks],” Pace said. “They would probably put them behind the stores or along the alleyways.”

The matter has been tabled to the board’s August 11 meeting.
