That work has caused a delay in the library's reopening until Sept. 3, they said. The library said on its website "We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our interruption of service, and we appreciate your patience and support."

While the library remains closed, the following rules apply:

  • Items may be returned to any other Westchester library.
  • Items may be kept until after the library reopens and overdue fines will be waived.
  • When placing holds during the closing, select another local library as your pick-up location.

Some early August library programs will be at the Pound Ridge Town House, 179 Westchester Ave. or at Conant Hall, 257 Westchester Ave.
