Pound Ridge Letter: Vote Avellino For Town Council

To The Editor:

Peter Avellino would be an excellent member of the Pound Ridge Town Council.

Peter and I worked together on the 29 Acres Preservation Association, a neighborhood association advocating for environmentally responsible development of all Pound Ridge lands.  He is an advocate and co-author of legislation for the Environmentally Sensitive Lands and Protection of Steep Slopes ordinances. A resident for over 20 years, Peter has gained extensive knowledge around town affairs – he is a frequent participant and attendee of Conservation Board, Town Board and Planning Board meetings.  He is an active member of the Pound Ridge Office of Emergency Management and a past member of the Pound Ridge Lions Volunteer Ambulance Corp.  Peter’s life-long passion for protecting our environment inspired him to spearhead an Environmental Steering Committee, under the auspices of the Conservation Board, charged with the task of creating an annual environmental day – their inaugural event, “Pound Ridge Go Green Day”, is planned for Spring 2014. As an independent-minded voter, I like Peter’s commitment both to our environment and fiscal conservatism.  Peter Avellino is smart and he is involved with Pound Ridge on many important levels.  I urge you to vote for him on Nov. 5.
