Letter: Pound Ridge PTA Supports School Budget

To the Editor:

BEDFORD, N.Y. — The Pound Ridge community will be heading to the voting booths on May 15 to vote on the Bedford Central School District 2012-13 proposed budget that was recently approved by the Board of Education.

After careful review and consideration, the Pound Ridge Elementary School PTA Executive Board endorses and supports the budget and encourages all to get out on May 15 and join us in voting yes for it. The proposed budget maintains core programming while minimizing faculty and staff reductions. It stays within the overall imposed tax cap resulting in only a 0.26 percent expected decrease in taxes for Pound Ridge residents during the 2012-13 school year.

The PRES PTA Executive Board, consisting of Co-Presidents Colette Dow and Gayle Mazlish, Treasurer Elaine Miller, Secretary Erin Regan and Vice Presidents Nicole Fields, Ester Tunnel and Melinda Velez urges everyone to join them in voting yes for the budget on May 15.

Voting will be open at all the district elementary schools from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15. The PRES PTA says get out and cast your “Yes” vote for the district budget.
