Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Hours-Long I-95 Delays
This story has been updated. There were delays of around two hours on a stretch of I-95 after a tractor-trailer crash in Fairfield County. The crash happened on the northbound side Friday morning, Aug. 21 at around 4 a.m., initially shutting down all lanes in Darien between Noroton Avenue/Exit 10 and Route 1/Exit 11. One lane reopened around daybreak with traffic backed up to Harvard Avenue/West Avenue (Exit 6) in Stamford. The highway did not fully reopen until the end of the morning commute.

Former HS Football Co-Captain ID'd As Stamford Homicide Victim
Police have identified the 18-year-old victim shot to death on Thursday as a former Stamford High School varsity football co-captain. Capt. Richard Conklin said that Antonio Robinson was shot at 8:45 p.m. Thursday at West Avenue and Baxter Street. Antonio Robinson was a free safety for the Knights for several years ending in 2017, and a co-captain for the team. His murder was the first in the city in 18 months. Lt. Suspect Nabbed With 110 Bags Of Heroin In Fairfield County
Fairfield County cops busted a Bronx man with 110 bags of heroin following a tip that he was frequently selling drugs in the area. The Stamford Police Department's Narcotics Unit was on the lookout for Lamor Williams, 47, of the Bronx, when he arrived in town around 7:30 p.m. Friday at Baxter and West avenues, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. When officers stopped and searched his vehicle he was in possession of 11 bundles of heroin that contained 110 bags of glassine envelopes of heroin, Conklin said.
