12-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle On Way To School In Fairfield County, Police Say A 12-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while on his way to school in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 8:17 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, at the intersection of South Avenue and Farm Road in New Canaan, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro. According to Ferraro, the boy, a 12-year-old boy, a student at Saxe Middle School, suffered minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Norwalk Hospital ER by NC EMS for treatment and further evaluation of his injuries. New Canaan Police say they observed a motorist traveling northbound on South Avenue on Saturday, May 11 around 2:30 a.m. The vehicle allegedly swerved toward the police cruiser as it passed. The vehicle then pulled into the Mobil Station, and police say they observed the driver sitting inside, hunched over in sleep.
