A New York jury found an upstate homeowner guilty of murder for opening fire on a car that mistakenly drove onto his property, killing a 20-year-old woman. Kevin Monahan, age 65, was convicted of second-degree murder in Washington County Court on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 23 in the death of Kaylin Gillis. The seven men and five women also found Monahan guilty of tampering with evidence and reckless endangerment after deliberating for just two hours. Defense attorneys for the man accused of shooting and killing a young woman who mistakenly drove onto his rural New York property have attempted to have his murder case thrown out, Albany station CBS 6 reports.
