School District In Westchester Names New Superintendent
An educator who has experience from coast to coast has been tapped as the new superintendent for one of downstate New York's largest school districts. The New Rochelle Board of Education is expected to approve a three-year deal with Jonathan P. Raymond during its meeting on Wednesday night, May 26 to become the district’s new superintendent. A former area high school basketball standout is heading from Denver to Sacramento after signing a two-year NBA contract to play for the Kings. Tyler Lydon, a Dutchess County native who attended Stissing Mountain High School in Pine Plains before spending a prep year at the New Hampton School in New Hampshire, signed to play as a stretch forward for the Kings after playing 26 games over two seasons with the Denver Nuggets. ID Released For Pedestrian Killed While Retrieving Cell Phone On I-95
A man who was struck and killed on I-95 while he retrieved his cell phone from the median has been identified. Hoa Ngo, 34, of Sacramento, Calif., was killed around 2:30 a.m. Monday on I-95 northbound just north of Exit 41 in Orange, said Sgt. Eric J Haglund with the Connecticut State Police. An initial investigation into the incident revealed that prior to the accident, Ngo was traveling with three adult friend in their pick-up truck towing a boat trailer when he accidentally dropped the phone out of an open window, Haglund said.
