Greenwich Officials Issue Alert For This Type Of Automobile Theft First Seen In Westchester Greenwich officials are warning residents of a new trend in automobile thefts in the town and region in which car thieves are committing burglaries to take the vehicle's keys. Greenwich Police said the activity was first seen in Westchester County and is now occurring in Greenwich. On Wednesday, Feb. 22,  car thieves entered a home in the back county section of Greenwich to take the homeowner's keys to steal the car from the garage, Greenwich Police said. Woman Killed After SUV Crashes Into Stone Wall In Greenwich A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash after her SUV left the roadway and hit a stone wall in Fairfield County, said authorities. The fatal crash, which killed a 52-year-old, took place Tuesday, July 13, on Lake Avenue in Greenwich. According to Slusarz, a 2013 Chevy Suburban was traveling north on Lake Avenue between Round Hill Road and Parsonage Road when it left the roadway and struck a stone wall and tree, said Greenwich PD Lt. Round Hill Road Crash Leads To DUI Charge, Greenwich Police Say A man is facing DUI charges after his involvement in a Greenwich crash, police say. Greenwich Police say they responded to a motor vehicle accident on Round Hill Road on Saturday, June 15 around 11:30 p.m. Further investigation revealed that a disabled vehicle was involved in an accident, and the driver, identified as Colin O’Toole, 34, of New Haven, was observed to have red eyes and an alcoholic odor, according to police. Drunk Westchester Motorist, 36, Crashes Into Wall, Flees Scene, Police Say A Westchester man was arrested after allegedly crashing a vehicle into a brick wall and then fleeing the scene. Juan Gonzalez, 36, of Yonkers, was arrested around 4:25 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 after Greenwich Police responded to the area of 122 Round Hill Road for a report that a vehicle had crashed into a brick wall, said the Greenwich Police. When officers arrived on the scene they found the vehicle had left the scene but was found in a driveway on Round Hill Road, police said. A further investigation found that Gonzalez had red, glassy eyes, and smelled of alcohol,  police said.…

A new round of thunderstorms with heavy downpours resulted in flooding throughout Fairfield County with a stretch of I-95 closed for a portion of the Thursday evening commute. The closure occurred southbound between Exit 15 and Exit 16 in Norwalk. The northbound side in that area had one lane open.
