Commissioner Overseeing Police, Fire Departments In Rye Resigns A popular Rye commissioner who oversaw the city's police and fire departments has resigned.It's unclear why Michael C. Corcoran Jr. suddenly stepped down. Rye Police Lt. Robert Falk has been named interim commissioner. Neither Falk nor Corcoran could be reached for comment.  In 2015, Corcoran joined the Rye Police Department after a 25-year law enforcement career in West Orange, N.J., including service as deputy police chief.
