Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Hudson River Near New TZB A small, single-engine plane that reportedly ran out of fuel was forced to make an emergency landing in the Hudson River near the new Tappan Zee Bridge. No injuries were reported in the incident which occurred just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14. Divers assisted after the controlled landing close to Piermont Pier. The plane was then towed to the Tarrytown Marina. (See photo above.) It was not immediately reported if more than one person was aboard the plane. This is a developing story. Missing Woman Found Dead In Hudson River, Identified A 48-year-old woman who police had been searching for since Thursday has been found dead in the Hudson River and identified. Jennifer Kavanagh was found Sunday morning by the Piermont Police dive team near the end of the Piermont Pier, said the Piermont Police. "It is with a heavy heart that the Piermont Police Department is reporting that a missing person case that was filed on Friday, Oct. 12, has been resolved," the police department wrote on Facebook. Search Temporarily Halted In Hudson River Area For Missing Woman This story has been updated. A large-scale search for a woman missing in or near the Hudson River has been temporarily called off due to inclement weather. According to the Piermont Police Department, first responders from across Rockland County were forced to call off the search for the woman who has been since Thursday night.
