Accused Dealer Taken Into Custody In New Canaan After Police Respond To Report Of Deceased Man A 33-year-old man has been arrested for being an alleged dealer after police say they discovered drugs in plain sight at his home while responding on a call for a deceased elderly man. John Major of New Canaan was arrested on Monday, March 18, on an active warrant by New Canaan Police, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro.  Police originally became of aware of Major while responding to a report of an elderly male that had died at a residence on River Street on Feb. 12, Ferraro said.
