Police are warning area residents to be wary after one was taken for more than $1,000 as part of a charity scam. Police have issued an alert warning of a charity scam involving a phony email sent from fraudsters. According to police, the resident received an email they believed to be from a close friend, including the use of the first and last name. More than 100 underage drinkers were cited during a "liquor compliance check" at the popular nightclub Clubhouse Café near Quinnipiac University. The raid took place Friday, Jan. 25, by members of the Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team, along with the patrol and traffic divisions at the club located at 3816 Whitney Ave., said Hamden Police Capt. Most Wanted Fugitive In Double-Murder Case Caught In Area
A 54-year-old man named one of U.S. Marshals’ 15 most wanted fugitives was captured 16 years after he allegedly killed his sister and an ex-girlfriend in New York City. Andre Neverson, 54, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 4 after U.S. Marshals and police received information that he was hiding in a house in Bridgeport, authorities said. U.S. Marshals and Bridgeport Police closed in when Neverson was spotted leaving the home.
