Ex-Cop To Be Released From Prison 20 Years After Fatal Shooting Outside Deli In Westchester
A longtime Westchester County resident and former New York City police officer will be released from prison on Jan. 7, 2019, after serving nearly 20 years behind bars for killing another man. Richard DiGuglielmo, now 53, was convicted for the 1996 shooting death of Charles Campbell over a parking spot in front of the DiGuglielmo family deli in Dobbs Ferry, according to lohud.com. A state judge tossed out a White Plains neighborhood group's lawsuit seeking to block the proposed 640-student French-American School of New York on the former Ridgeway Country Club. Supreme Court Justice Joan Lefkowitz said the Gedney Association failed to prove that the City of White Plains and its Common Council failed to follow legal procedure when they approved the FASNY plan, nor that a covenant on the 129-acre property prohibited construction of an educational facility.
