Woman Killed As Car Crashes Head On With SUV On Merritt Parkway A 57-year-old woman was killed late Saturday night in a head-on crash involving a car and an SUV on the Merritt Parkway. The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. near Exit 67 in Meriden when 21-year-old David Perez of Bridgeport, was traveling southbound in a 2005 Honda Civic near the Miller Avenue DOT exit when he drove off the left side of the roadway, and struck a curb. The car then became airborne, launched over the metal-beam guardrail median, and into the northbound flow of traffic, where it hit a  2013 Chevrolet Equinox head on, causing both vehicles to be disabled in the travel lane.
