Brown Scores 15 in Port Chester Basketball Loss

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Keon Ervin scored 18 of his game-high 25 points in the last three quarters, sending visiting Ossining to a 56-48 victory over Port Chester in a boys’ basketball game.This was Ossining’s first win of the season -- 1-5. Port Chester dropped to 0-5.Ervin had seven points in the second quarter as Ossining outscored Port Chester, 19-13, and went into halftime with a 31-26 lead.Port Chester closed to within one -- 38-37 -- on a Preston Higgins’ offensive follow with 2:01 remaining in the third quarter, but Ossining scored the last six points of the quarter. Ervin finished off a fast break and Sam Lacour swished a foul-line jumper and converted a steal, giving the Pride a 44-37 lead. Lacour finished with 11 points.Tim Brown led Port Chester with 15 points and Joe Varastro and Tyrek Harris each had had eight points. The Rams hurt themselves in the fourth quarter going 3 of 12 from the free throw line.
