PORT CHESTER, N.Y. A Port Chester man was arrested Monday morning and charged with numerous offenses, including driving while intoxicated with children in the car, after the police chief witnessed a related accident, according to Lt. James Ladearious of the Port Chester Police Department.
Ladearious said Chief Joseph Krzeminski was driving on William Street at 8:48 a.m. Monday when he saw a two-car accident. One of the vehicles did not stop after the accident, and Krzeminski followed the car and pulled over the driver, who, the chief reported, was intoxicated. Three children ages 5, 2, and 7 days were not wearing seat belts or in car seats, Ladearious said.
Felipe Bravo-Garcia, 30, of 244 William St., was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree due to a previous drug-related driving incident in March in which his license was suspended. He was additionally charged with DWI, three counts of aggravated DWI with a child in the vehicle and three counts of no proper child restraints.
He was remanded to the county jail and is due in court Friday.
