Port Chester Man Faces Dwi-with-Kids Charges

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – A Port Chester man was arrested Monday morning and charged with numerous offenses, including driving while intoxicated with children in the car, after the police chief witnessed a related accident, according to Lt. James Ladearious of the Port Chester Police Department.

Ladearious said Chief Joseph Krzeminski was driving on William Street at 8:48 a.m. Monday when he saw a two-car accident. One of the vehicles did not stop after the accident, and Krzeminski followed the car and pulled over the driver, who, the chief reported, was intoxicated. Three children – ages 5, 2, and 7 days – were not wearing seat belts or in car seats, Ladearious said.

Felipe Bravo-Garcia, 30, of 244 William St., was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree due to a previous drug-related driving incident in March in which his license was suspended. He was additionally charged with DWI, three counts of aggravated DWI with a child in the vehicle and three counts of no proper child restraints.

He was remanded to the county jail and is due in court Friday.
