Port Chester Firefighters Save Seymour Road Home

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. — The Port Chester Fire Department is investigating the cause of a late afternoon attic fire at a three-story home at 243 Seymour Road.

Some 40-50 volunteer firefighters responded to the blaze at about 4 p.m., Fire Chief Kevin McMinn said.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire in 45 minutes, after putting two water hoses into the house through the roof, McMinn said.

Firefighters were able to evacuate everyone from the residence.

McMinn said the house suffered water damage, but would be saved.
