Police: Port Chester Man Stopped For Traffic Violations Had BAC Twice Limit

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Port Chester man was arrested on Friday, Nov. 11, for driving while intoxicated after being stopped by state police in Elmsford for driving erratically, according to New York State Police.

Vicente Mendoza, 54, was stopped around 11:44 p.m. on I-287 for multiple traffic violations. During his arrest, he was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent, more than twice the legal limit. Additionally, Mendoza had a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and as a result was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated numerous vehicle and traffic violations, state police said.

Mendoza was turned over to a sober third party and released after posting $500 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 14.
