One man has been arrested in connection with the crash, according to Port Chester Police Chief Richard Conway.
Port Chester Police responded to the car crash at 533 Willett Ave. first at 3:09 a.m. Saturday, Conway said.
There, they found a black Jeep had crashed into the building, pinning a 28-year-old Port Chester man between the Jeep’s front, passenger-side bumper and an interior wall, Conway said.
Officers began extricating the man and giving him oxygen, according to investigators, who said the man was conscious but unable to breathe properly.
Firefighters and Port Chester EMS arrived moments later and removed the man from the scene. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment, according to police.
Officers at the crash site were told that three people had gotten out of the Jeep after the crash and run from the home, according to Port Chester investigators, who then called upon Rye Brook, Rye City and Westchester County police for assistance in the search.
About 30 minutes later, at 3:45 a.m., Port Chester police received a call from staff at Stamford Hospital, who said they were treating a man who claimed to have been stabbed in the area of Putnam and Willett avenues, according to Conway, who said the stabbing took place less than a block from the hit-and-run crash.
At 3:58 a.m., Rye City police reported that a 25-year-old Bridgeport man had called 911 to report that he was the driver of the Jeep and was waiting at Edison Place, Conway said.
Officers responded to the scene and arrested the man, whose name was not released. According to investigators, charges against the 25-year-old are pending.
Conway said that both the crash and stabbing victims were expected to recover and described their injuries as "non-life-threatening."
A Westchester County police Accident Investigation Unit is assisting Port Chester investigators trying to determine whether the two incidents are linked, according to authorities.
Police on Sunday morning were unable to provide an update on the investigation.
Anyone with information on the crash or stabbing is urged to call Port Chester police at 914-939-1000.
