Marie VanTine Johnson, 93, Lifelong Port Chester Resident

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Marie VanTine Johnson, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died Oct. 8. She was 93.

Johnson was born July 24, 1920, in Port Chester, to Vincent Madello and Ann Lucenti Cavello.  She graduated from Port Chester High School in 1938. She was a sales associate of Dress Barn and previously had been a seamstress with Kay Chester Dress Company in Port Chester. She was a parishioner of the Corpus Christi Church, a member of the Port Chester Lyons and a volunteer at United Hospital.

Johnson is survived by her daughter, Barbara Van Tine of Valhalla. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Edward "Bud" Johnson.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at Corpus Christi Church 136 South Regent St., Port Chester. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery Rye.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
