Anthony J. Moore Jr., 82, Lifelong Port Chester Resident

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Anthony J. Moore Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family May 22 at the age of 82.

He was the beloved husband of Nel, loving father to Cindy, John, Skip (Tammy) and Rob (Lucy), proud grandfather of Amanda, John Jr., Taylor and Zack, brother of Edna (Sal) DeMarco and brother-in-law to John L. (Nora) Marciniak.

He was predeceased by his parents Anthony Sr. and Frances, his brother Charles and his sister Rosanne.

Moore lived in Port Chester all his life and was a 1950 graduate of Port Chester High School. He played basketball while in high school and loved all sports.

Moore met and married his middle school sweetheart, Nel, in 1953. They had four children during their 62-year union.

He was a devoted lifelong parishioner and volunteer at Corpus Christi Church and was a member and past president of The Holy Name Society.

After retirement 20 years ago from being an electrical supervisor, he and his wife traveled extensively.

Viewing will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Gunipero-Farenga Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Corpus Christi Church, 136 S. Regent St., Port Chester. An entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Rye Brook.
