PORT CHESTER, N.Y. The Port Chester Fire Department responded to a distress call at Empire Coffee Inc., 106 Purdy Ave., Thursday afternoon after a female employee got her hand caught in a piece of machinery.
The Fire Department reported that EMS responders had already removed the woman's hand from the machine and were taking her away on a stretcher when firefighters arrived at 3:08 p.m.. Both the Fire Department and the Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS confirmed that the woman was taken to a nearby hospital, but would not say which one.
Representatives of Empire Coffee declined to comment.
