Port Chester Woman Reports Jewelry Stolen

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - A Port Chester woman said a burglar stole $116,000 worth of jewelry from her Betsy Brown Home sometime between Feb. 26 and March 8 while she was on vacation.

According to Lt. James Ladeairous of Port Chester Police, the woman reported 13 items missing including rings, earrings and one pendant. The woman said she took the jewelry box with her on vacation but didn't check it until she returned home on March 8.

Ladeairous said the police are looking into the matter.

"A couple of things promote a problem," Ladeairous said. "With such a large window we have to establish when the jewelry was taken and where it was taken."

Police reported that there was no forced entry into the home.
