Port Chester Man Stabbed to Death

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Port Chester resident Carlos Guiracocha was stabbed to death early Tuesday morning outside an apartment complex on Poningo Street in Port Chester, according to the Port Chester Police Department.

Police Chief Joseph Krzeminski said police responded to a call at 3:55 a.m. for an ambulance at 125 Poningo St. When they arrived at the scene they found Guiarcocha, who was 23,  unresponsive. Port Chester Emergency Medical Services pronounced Guiracocha dead at the scene, according to police. He lived at 19 Orchard St.

Police recovered a large knife, Krzeminski said, and the victim was stabbed once in the chest. Beer cans were also found at the scene of the stabbing, but police were unsure if there was a connection.

Guiracocha was employed by L&M Roofing in the village, police confirmed.

The police said detectives "were following a number of leads," and that the investigation was ongoing.
