Carlos Coyt-Orozco of Port Chester and his passenger, David Espinoza, were pushing Coyt-Orozco's car along the right shoulder after it ran out of gas, according to a report by Fox 61 Connecticut, citing Connecticut State Police.
John Hoffman of Gloucester, NJ, the driver of the tractor-trailer, was blinded by sun glare after hitting a curvature in the road, and drifted into the shoulder, hitting Coyt-Orozco, who was pushing and steering the car while standing on the driver's side door, the report said.
Coyt-Orozco was rushed to Weschester Medical Center in Valhalla, where he was pronounced dead. His age has not yet been released.
The right and center lanes on I-95 south were closed between Exits 2 and 3 as a result of the 4:30 p.m. accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
