Port Chester Library Closed June 6-11

The Port Chester library will be closed from June 6th to 11th due to renovation.Workers will be installing an elevator that will go to all three floors, doubling the size of the children's section, adding two meeting rooms and adding water fountains, said Robin Lettieri, library director. The renovation started in January and will continue through the fall. The renovations are funded by a bequest from the Leffert's endowment. Frank Fiore, 16, who goes to the library for tutoring every day after school isn't sure what he'll do when the facilities close. But Ligia Calderon, an English as a Second Language student at the University of Connecticut who uses the library once a week, said she will find another library to go to while the work is being done. Calderon thinks the renovations will be worthwhile.

"I think it will improve the library," she said.
