PORT CHESTER/RYE BROOK, N.Y. Plenty of storytimes and workshops for kids are coming to the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library in the fall, along with health and wellness lectures for adults. Heres a full list of events:
Toddler Time: For ages 2 to 3. Parents and children will participate in fingerplays, songs, stories, musical instruments and other parent-child activities Wednesdays at 11 a.m. The dates are Sept 19, Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31 and Nov. 7.
Preschoolers: For ages 3 to 5. Children will listen to stories and participate in songs, fingerplays, movement and a craft activity. Wednesdays at 10 a.m. on Sept. 19, Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31 and Nov. 7 as well as Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 20 and 27, Oct. 4, 11, 18, and 25 and Nov. 1 and 8.
Cuentos y Canciones en Espanol con Julie: For ages 3 to 5. Children will participate in stories and songs in Spanish. Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Sept. 11, Oct. 2, and Nov. 13.
Pre-registration for all storytimes begins Monday, Sept. 10, by phone at 914-939-6710, ext. 108, or in person. All storytimes require pre-registration.
Homework Help begins Tuesday, Sept. 11, and is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. upstairs in the Meeting Room.
You Picasso Art Workshops for Children will be offered for children ages 7 to 12 on Saturday, Sept. 22 and 27, from 11 a.m. to noon. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required beginning Sept 10 by phone at 914-939-6710, ext. 108, or in person.
Health and Wellness Lectures by healthcare professionals from Greenwich Hospital is co-sponsored by The Twig of Westchester County, New York, Inc., based in Rye, and by Greenwich Hospital. Light refreshments will be served. Here are the programs that will be offered:
Tips for Sleeping Well by Saul Rothenberg, Ph.D., on Monday, Sept. 24, from 7 to 8 p.m.
Nutrition for a Healthier You by Gavin Pritchard on Monday, Oct. 1, from 7 to 8 p.m.
5-Benefits of Exercise by Richard Becker on Monday, Oct. 15, from 7 to 8 p.m.
