Busy Main Route Reopens After Tree Falls In Westchester
This story has been updated. A part of a busy main route in Westchester has reopened to traffic after being briefly closed thanks to a downed tree. Hillside Avenue (Route 100) in Greenburgh at the intersection with Valimar Boulevard reopened at around 4 p.m. after being closed for less than two hours after a tree fell on the roadway, Greenburgh Police said on Friday, April 12. The department said the road was reopened so fast thanks to "outstanding work" from the Town of Greenburgh Department of Public Works.

Lane, Ramp Closures: These Parkways In Westchester Being Affected For Week
Motorists in Westchester are being made aware of a series of lane and ramp closures on two busy parkways. A large section of Interstate I-87/I-28, including the new Tappan Zee Bridge, will be closed in order to make repairs to a bridge overpass that is severely damaged. Lane Closure: Sprain Brook Parkway In Westchester To Be Affected
A scheduled lane closure will soon affect a busy parkway in Westchester to make way for road work. The closure, which will occur on Thursday, July 27, will affect one lane of the northbound Sprain Brook Parkway between Route 119 and Route 110C in Greenburgh, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. On Monday, Oct. 18, first responders from the Yonkers Police and Fire departments responded to a stretch of Yonkers Avenue, where a truck overturned when the driver failed to negotiate a turn. Two suspects in an allegedly stolen car took police on a wild chase on, off and across I-287 in Westchester. Wind damaged trees falling across Route 9 has necessitated a major north-south road closing late Monday afternoon, Feb. 25. As of just before 4:30 p.m., Route 9 is closed from the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery’s main entrance to the Phelps Memorial Hospital entrance.
