An ambulance went up in flames during the busy morning commute in a Westchester County village, disrupting traffic in the process. The fire began in Pelham on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at around 7:30 a.m., when an ambulance blaze was reported in the area of Wolf's Lane and Franklin Place near Pelham Middle School, according to the Village of Pelham Fire Department. A middle and high school in Westchester were evacuated and searched by authorities after a teacher was emailed a bomb threat, officials announced. Students at both Pelham Middle School and Pelham Memorial High School were evacuated and dismissed early on Monday, Nov. 20 after a teacher received a bomb threat over email, Pelham Superintendent Cheryl H. Another Westchester school is transitioning to its remote learning plan after receiving confirmation of a positive COVID-19 case. Pelham Schools Superintendent Cheryl Champ announced this week that an individual at Siwanoy Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19, forcing officials to switch back to distance learning for two weeks. More symbols of hate were reportedly found at a Westchester school when swastikas were discovered in Pelham. School officials stated that multiple swastikas were found by students at the Pelham Middle School, though it was not reported where on the campus they were found.
