Oil Truck Crashes Down Embankment, Causing Fuel Leak In Area
An oil tanker crashed down an embankment, causing a fuel leak that firefighters are still busy soaking up. The crash took place around 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, in Putnam Valley on Hollowbrook Road, officials said. The driver was not injured, but firefighters with the Putnam Valley Department are using absorbent pads to stop the oil from leaking into the nearby Hollow Brook, the department said. Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department and Montrose VA Fire Department and the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services Hazmat Team assisted with the call.

House Fire Breaks Out At Building In Northern Westchester
Volunteers with the Peekskill Ambulance Corps helped with two Westchester County fires over the past week, including one at an abandoned house.The fire, at 928 Second St., in Peekskill, broke out about 5 a.m. Thursday, officials said. About 40 firefighters responded to the scene, which kept the ambulance corps busy provided cold water to keep them hydrated, said the ambulance corps on Facebook.
