Lowe’s announced that it is planning to outsource the jobs of maintenance and assembly workers to third-party companies, including workers that put together certain items such as grills and wheelbarrows. The news of layoffs was first reported by the Wall Street Journal. It is unclear exactly how many employees are being laid off, but it is expected to be in the thousands. Man Accused Of Stealing $1,148 In Items From Northern Westchester Lowe's Store A 55-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing $1,148 worth of merchandise from a Northern Westchester Lowe's store. Scott Guinee, of Yorktown, turned himself in to police on Thursday, July 18, following an investigation that he allegedly stole the merchandise from the store on June 22, said the Yorktown Police. Guinee was charged with grand larceny and released on his own recognizance. Heis scheduled to appear in court on August 22.
