New York State Police Ask Public's Help In Identifying Robbery Suspect At Service Area
Police are asking the public for help as they search for a suspect in a robbery that took place at a service area on the New York State Thruway. The incident happened in the Erie County village of Lancaster at about 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, according to New York State Police. Police said the robbery happened at the Clarence Service Area on the New York State Thruway. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 585-344-6200.

Hundreds of jobs are coming to the Hudson Valley as Amazon prepares for its latest venture in New York. This week, Amazon announced that it plans to launch a state-of-the-art operations facility in Orange County in Montgomery in time for the 2021 holiday season, generating more than 800 full-time jobs. The fulfillment center, which will span more than 1,000,000-square-feet near the intersection of Route 17K and Route 747 has been in the works for more than a year. Rogue Rodent: Squirrel Blamed For 12K Losing Power Upstate
A rather unconventional source has been determined as the cause of an outage that knocked out power to more than 12,500 upstate New York residents. A squirrel. The rogue rodent made its way into the substation in Lancaster, outside Buffalo, knocking out power to residents in four communities on Sunday, New York State Electric and Gas said. Inside the substation, the squirrel made contact with two energized units" inside a control house, NYSEG said. The outages lasted from about 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
