Man With 'Bloodshot Eyes' Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Woods In Hudson Valley: Police
A Hudson Valley man is in trouble after he crashed his vehicle into the woods while drunk, police said.
On Tuesday, Dec. 13, around 11:30 a.m., police in Kent found a vehicle that had left the roadway and crashed into the woods on Horsepound Road at the intersection with Route 52, according to Kent Police.
After making their way to the vehicle, police observed that the driver had an open Coors Light in the cupholder, in addition to bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and a "strong odor of alcohol," police said.

Democratic New York Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, who represents the 95th Assembly District, has announced her retirement from public office after 30 years of service.
Galef, an 82-year-old resident of Ossining, said that she would retire from her seat at the end of 2022 in an announcement on Thursday, Dec. 15.
First elected to the seat in 1992, Galef represents parts of Northern Westchester, including Peekskill, Cortlandt, Croton-on-Hudson, Ossining, and parts of Yorktown, as well as parts of Putnam County, including Philipstown, Kent, Cold Spring, and Nelsonville.

A Hudson Valley man is charged with striking his wife after becoming angry over an iPad purchase, police said.
On Tuesday, Nov. 2, at around 7:50 p.m., police in Putnam County responded to a residence in Kent at 51 Yorktown Rd. after receiving a report of a possible physical dispute, according to Kent Police.
