New School Bus Stop-Arm Camera Program Announced In Westchester To Catch Illegal Passings
Nearly a dozen districts in Westchester will be participating in an all-new enforcement program that will use artificial intelligence to catch those who illegally pass stopped school buses, officials announced. In an announcement on Tuesday, Oct. 22, Westchester County Executive George Latimer unveiled a new school bus stop-arm photo program meant to reduce the number of illegal passing. Westlake High School Hires New Assistant Principal In Mount Pleasant: 'Tremendous Asset'
A high school in Northern Westchester has appointed a new assistant principal who district officials believe will quickly become successful in his new position. Mount Pleasant Central School District Superintendent Peter Giarrizzo is set to recommend that Daniel Brady be appointed as the new Assistant Principal of Westlake High School during the next Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, April 18, the district announced. Teacher Placed On Leave For Alleged Inappropriate Conduct With Student In Westchester
A Westchester teacher is on administrative leave after being accused of alleged inappropriate conduct with a student. The teacher, who works at Woodlands Middle/High School in Hartsdale, was placed on leave Thursday, April 4, Greenburgh Central School District Superintendent Tahira A. DuPree Chase said. $115M Greenburgh Schools Bond Vote Postponed
After months of discussion and consideration, the Greenburgh Board of Education voted to give the community more time to decide whether to consolidate each of its schools onto one campus. The community was originally scheduled to vote on the $114.6 million bond on whether to consolidate all schools to the Warburg campus on Tuesday, Feb. 12. Coyote Sighting Causes Lock-In At Several Schools In Westchester
Several Westchester schools were put on lock-in Thursday following a coyote sighting on school property. The coyote was seen around 10:45 a.m. Thursday on the Greenburgh school district's Warburg campus on Hartsdale Avenue which includes the Woodlands Middle/High School, Lee F. Jackson School, and the Early Childhood Program. Some new safety measures are set to be introduced in the Greenburgh Central School District after a Level 3 sex offender was spotted walking around the campus of an elementary school in the district.
