Iconic Ride At Playland In Westchester To Celebrate 95th Anniversary A popular Westchester amusement park is planning on celebrating the 95th anniversary of its iconic roller coaster with two weekends of fun activities and events.  The Dragon Coaster at Rye Playland, which opened in 1929, will celebrate its birthday weekend on Saturday, July 20, and Sunday, July 21, the park announced. Designed by Frederick A. Church, the wooden ride measures 80 feet high and has around 3,400 feet of track. Man Banned From Chain Steals $2K In Items At Area Store, Police Say A 55-year-old man who was banned from all of a national chain's locations was caught stealing $2,000 worth of items from its location in Putnam County, state police said. Police began an investigation regarding Dennis J. Eisenberg of the Bronx allegedly stealing merchandise from Michaels on Independent Way in the town of Southeast in April. An investigation revealed Michaels, which sells art supplies, crafts and framing, had previously issued a cease-and-desist order on Eisenberg banning him from all its stores due to his previous arrests for larceny at Michaels.  The investigation found t…
