Going into the championship game, the teams were ranked 1 and 2: Pleasantville had compiled an 8-0 record while Valhalla went into the game 7-1.
An extremely disciplined defense along with an outstanding offensive effort led by Daniel Picart’s huge plays enabled the Panthers to prevail in hard fought battle.
The Pleasantville coaching staff for the 3/4 Panthers White team had a philosophy that every team member plays with respect, integrity and confidence.
“These kids play with such joy and pride, it's up to us to push them while supporting them, growing them while keeping them safe, “ said head coach Ray Daly.
“The Pleasantville community is truly special -- the parents, coaches, mentors, teachers and friends of our guys are so encouraging, so all my team wanted to do was have fun, backup their buddies and make everyone proud. Every game was played with heart. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the results but more importantly, we couldn’t be prouder of how they played--not just the championship, but every game,” continued Daly.
