Pace University Students Honored At Senior Athletics Banquet

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University athletics recognized its graduating seniors and top student-athletes at the annual Pace Athletics Senior Banquet on Saturday, May 10.

This year’s event honored more than 50 student-athletes representing several varsity sports.  Senior student-athletes, award nominees, staff, faculty and families gathered to honor this year’s seniors and celebrate the history of Pace athletics. This growing tradition has become an event that seniors appreciate as they reflect on their collegiate career.

After opening remarks from Pace University President Stephen J. Friedman and Director of Athletics Mark Brown, each senior student-athlete received a senior gift.

The ceremony continued with highlight videos from the 2013-14 school year and a full buffet dinner and dessert.  The evening concluded with the presentation of awards including Female and Male Athletes of the Year and the Darrell Halloran Memorial Award, which goes to the top overall senior student-athlete. A list of full awards includes:

SAAC Golden Megaphone: Ryan Valdez, men’s lacrosse

Honorary Letterwinner: Peg Fitzgerald, faculty athletic representative

Merit Awards: Jessica Paskowski, women’s soccer and William Scioscia, men’s lacrosse

Male Athlete of the Year:  Matt Gebhardt, men’s lacrosse

Female Athlete of the Year: Jeane Drury, softball

Darrell Halloran Memorial Award: Kaitlyn Lynch, women’s swimming and diving
