Farina is currently the head cheerleading coach at Hofstra University, a position she has held for the past 11 years.
At Hofstra, Farina led her teams to the UCA Small Coed National Cheerleading Championships in seven of eight years from 2006-13. In addition, she was the choreographer for seven winning national routines from 2006-13. Her teams were featured in the 2007 and 2008 in American Cheerleading magazine.
Her teams have performed in front of national audiences, including the 2008 NFL Kickoff with pop artist Usher in New York City, "The Emeril Lagasse Show" featuring the New York Giants and halftime New Jersey Nets games.
Farina has choreographed routines for a music video for Atlantic Record’s Ryan Starr as well as a halftime show for the Harlem Globetrotters and a sideline routine for The United Football League.
Farina is the president of CAN Cheer Inc. and has choreographed routines for Long Island high schools and all-star teams that have gone onto compete on a national level.
She published a book in 2011, titled "The Guide to Cheerleading." The book is currently on sale at Barnes & Nobles and Amazon.com. From 2009-10, Farina helped produce "The Cheering Life" on MSG Varsity, and the Hofstra cheer team has been featured at summer camps.
Farina was a four-year member of the Hofstra cheerleading squad and was also a team captain. During her four years, she was honored with several awards, including Most Dedicated 1997-99 and Most Valuable 1997-99. In addition, The Hofstra Pride Club selected her as the Outstanding Senior Athlete Award in 1999. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Hofstra in 1999 in banking and finance.
