Pace got on the board in the third inning for an early 1-0 lead. St. Rose rallied with a three-run home run in the third and added a run in the fourth for a 4-1 lead.
Pace junior Jean Drury hit a two-run triple in the seventh. Junior Natalie Gellos then tied the game at 4 with a single to score Drury to force extra innings.
The score remained tied until the 10th, when the Setters broke the game open with five runs. Pace took a two-run lead behind RBI singles by freshman Alicia Marino and senior Lana Buchbinder.
Drury broke it open with a bases-clearing triple and put the Setters up by five runs. Freshman Kaitlynn Nelson closed out the game with five scoreless innings, with one hit allowed and four strikeouts.
For Pace, Drury went 2-for-5 with five RBIs, and senior Kimberly Duffy went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and freshman Shelby Yung went 2-for-5 with two runs scored.
The Setters will play a Southwest Division three-game series against the American International Yellow urJackets at home in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 12, at noon and a single game on Sunday, April 13, at noon.
