Pace Football Opens Season With Henry Youth Clinic

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – The Pace University football team announced its 2012 schedule Thursday and will kick off the season with a series events in the community beginning with the DJ Henry Youth Football Clinic on Aug. 26.

Each year the Pace football program conducts a free football clinic, which provides an opportunity for local youth football players to run through drills with the team and learn basic skills from Pace's coaching staff. Free food from Pace Athletics sponsors will also be available while supplies last. Each year children from Pleasantville, Briarcliff Manor, Tarrytown, Ossining, Scarsdale and many other communities participate in the free youth football clinic.

Pace's 2012 football season begins Aug. 31 with an away game at Bentley University at 7 p.m. Pace continues on the road the following Saturday as the Setters travel to Stony Brook to take on the Seawolves in a nonconference game kicking off at 6 p.m.

On Sept. 15, Pace returns to Pleasantville to host New Haven in its 2012 home opener, which will include a pregame ceremony recognizing the members of the Wounded Warrior Project. Throughout the day there will be a social media contest sponsored by PaceSettersTeamShop.com, the official online store for Pace Athletics, as well as a performance by the Pace University Drum Line at halftime.
