PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. Pace University senior catcher Joe Solomeno earned co-MVP honors in the American Collegiate Baseball League this summer.
Solomeno, who played for the Center Moriches Battlecats, earned the leagues hitting award and also produced one of the top performances in league history. He led the league in batting average with .421, hits with 61, doubles with 14, RBI with 53 and total bases with 96.
He recorded five hits in his first game and had an 11-game streak with at least one RBI.
Solomeno also started at catcher July 19 for the Hampton Division All-Star Team at MCU Park in Brooklyn.
